Hey girl, I'm Arial—your Habit Homegirl.
If you had told me a few years ago that I'd be living in New Orleans, married to my husband, renting out a house I once thought was my forever home, and working in wellness instead of education, I probably would've laughed.
Not because I didn't have goals. I had plenty of them.
But somewhere along the way, I learned that having a plan for your life doesn't mean your life is going to follow the plan.
I've experienced divorce, bought a home, became a landlord, got remarried, moved across the country, left a career I'd spent more than 15 years building, and started an entirely new chapter. And through all of those transitions, I had to continually ask myself:
Who am I now? What do I want now? And what habits do I need to become the woman I'm becoming?
That's the heart behind Your Habit Homegirl.
I created this space because I know what it's like to be ambitious, capable, and still feel like you're figuring it all out. To outgrow a version of yourself you once worked really hard to become. To know you want something different but not necessarily know exactly what that "different" looks like yet.
And I've learned that sometimes the answer isn't another five-year plan.
Sometimes, you need to get back to yourself—one habit at a time.
I'm Arial, but you can call me Coach Arial.
I'm a certified Transformational Life Coach, fitness professional, educator, and lifelong advocate for personal growth. Before making my own career pivot, I spent more than 15 years in education and leadership, serving as a teacher, instructional coach, administrator, and girls' basketball coach.
I also spent years as a college athlete, which is where the nickname "6'1, D'1" came from. 😂 And while the height is definitely real, the nickname has always represented something bigger to me: discipline, ambition, confidence, and a willingness to go after the life I want.
But here's what I've learned:
You can be disciplined and still need to reinvent yourself.
You can be successful and still feel lost.
You can love your life and still want something different.
That's not failure.
That's growth.
My work now sits at the intersection of everything I've spent my life doing—coaching, education, wellness, leadership, and helping people recognize their own potential.
BUT THIS IS REALLY ABOUT YOU.
Maybe you're in your messy middle.
The season where the old version of your life doesn't quite fit anymore, but the new version hasn't fully come together yet.
Maybe you've accomplished a lot, but you're realizing that the goals you once chased aren't necessarily the goals you want anymore.
Maybe you're rebuilding after a major life transition.
Maybe you're simply tired of starting over every Monday.
You want to exercise consistently.
You want to take better care of yourself.
You want to finally launch the idea that's been sitting in your head.
You want more structure without feeling like your life is a rigid checklist.
You want to stop living in reaction mode and start being intentional about how you spend your time and energy.
You don't need another person telling you to "just be disciplined."
You need someone who understands that your habits have to work with the life you're actually living.
That's where I come in.
